'Ngiling Bidai' or 'Ngiling Tikai' is a significant ritual as a closing of the Gawai Dayak. Dayak people celebrate it as a symbol to the new chapter of life after Gawai. 'Ngiling' means roll and 'Tikai' means rattan mat and the meaning is to roll the rattan mat. Head of villagers will perform the ritual as a closing of the previous beautiful year and get blessings from God and spirit for the coming year to come.
Dayak Community of Ranhill Worley, Miri has successfully organized their Gawai Ngiling Bidai dinner for the year 2010 at Eastwood Valley on the night of 3rd of July 2010, Saturday. More than a hundred faces of different races (even some are from other countries) enjoyed themselves during the night, including me!
It was such a joyful occasion as we enjoyed ourselves throughout fun activities including the 'nyumpit', 'ngetas ranyai', traditional dancing and musical show, karaoke, lucky draw, and of course...drinking 'tuak' and wine...
